Patti Sandusky (Chapter Chair) and Thuy “Twee” Pieper (flying out of ANE) from the Minnesota Chapter of The Ninety-Nines will be our guest speakers at the Chapter 237 meeting on February 27th. This presentation will be open to any/all women interested in aviation and will be a very informative and fun event.

The Ninety-Nines, Inc., is the first and only international organization of licensed women pilots. From 35 countries, they currently have over 5,500 members throughout the world. Virtually all women of achievement in aviation have been or are members of The Ninety-Nines. Ninety-Nines are comprised of women who fly purely for fun, fly professionally for airlines, corporations, flight schools, and government agencies, or fly their own airplanes for their own businesses. First and foremost, they are all women pilots who love to fly!

Young Eagles Flights – August 13th and 20th

On Saturday, August 13th, EAA Chapter 237 will be hosting Young Eagles flights at the Burnett County Airport in Siren, WI. For more information and to register for this event please visit our Young Eagles page.

On Saturday, August 20st, there will be another Young Eagles event at the Forest Lake Airport. Information and registration for this event is available at www.forestlakeairport.org.

This is a great opportunity for young people with an interest in aviation to fly for free!

Chapter Picnic – August 21st (date change)

The Chapter Picnic will be Sunday, August 21st. The event will take place in the usual spot, on the lawn just north of the Golden Wings hanger.

We plan on starting rides at noon and starting lunch at 2 pm. Famous Dave’s is on the menu.

We encourage all members with aircraft to bring them and share a flight experience with our other members.

Member Project Tour – Jerry’s RV-6, April 9th

Members – on Saturday, April9th at 10:00 am Jerry Golden will be opening his hangar to check out his almost complete RV-6 project. The hangar is at the Lake Elmo airport. If driving South on Manning Ave, take the first entrance gate after the tracks (GATE A). Follow the signs towards the Civil Air Patrol, passing Valters FBO. The hangar is the first one on Mooney Lane, number 41F, just North of the CAP hangar.

You can also check out a partially completed RV-6A project that’s for sale. The wings are 50% complete, tail done, and the fuselage and finish kits are still crated. Also included are tools including a full commercially made steel jig for fuselage contruction. Jerry is working on getting additional info.

Chapter Christmas Party – Monday, December 20th

Due to the heavy snow last Monday, the Christmas party have been pushed out one week.

Social hour starts at 6:00 p.m.
Dinner starts at 7:00 p.m.

The chapter is furnishing meat & dinner rolls, plates, silverware and refreshments. Members should bring side dishes and
desserts.

Teardown & cleanup on 12/21 at 10 a.m.
